Hiking in the Hohe Tauern National Park
The Gasthof Kröll in Niedernsill has been a licensed hiking operation of the hiking villages of Austria since 2014 and is therefore the ideal starting point for your hiking holiday in the Hohe Tauern National Park.
Whether leisurely hiking, challenging mountaineering or challenging climbing – the surroundings of Piesendorf-Niedernsill offers a variety of wonderful hiking areas with attractive hiking routes and hosted alpine pastures.
Twice a week, our guests are picked up directly in front of the hotel for guided tours with a hiking guide by a hiking taxi and brought back again. And when time permits, our senior chef Armin hikes with the guests as well.
Tuesday:
GUIDED “MOUNTAIN ENTHUSIAST” TOUR

- Meeting point: 09:00 AM Tourist Association Piesendorf Niedernsill
- Kröll’s guests: Will be picked up directly at the hotel
- Duration: approx. 5 hours (moderate difficulty)

GUIDED NATURE EXPERIENCE HIKE

Niedernsill – Hauptmannsdorf – Aisdorf – Niedernsill
This hike is easy and is very suitable for families with children or for the first day of your holiday to tune in. The length is about 9km, 394 meters of altitude are overcome and the hike takes about 2:30 – 3:00 hours. Even children don’t get bored, there’s just so much to see.
Hochkogel
This tour requires much more good condition, which stretches over about 23km, 1,690 meters of altitude are overcome and the hike takes about 8:30 – 9:30 hours. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view and a summit victory!
